I do not claim to be a professional anything...I am always learning and there are many other creative people out there far better at doing what I may do. However- I have a creative eye...I may not reach the end result in the same ways "professionals" do...but I get there. I'm sure it's harder, but I get it done... I know there are many "rules" to photography, painting, beading, mosaic'ing, designing, etc. but I firmly believe, art is all based on what the buyer thinks of it!
A photographer may look at one of my prints and be like- pfffft, that's wrong, this is wrong and the why did she not do, or do this or that....but the client may absolutely LOVE it....sooooo, is it wrong? Nope :) An artist may say - the shading is totally off and there is no depth?!?! But the client may love it just the way it is....soooooo, is it wrong? Nope :) A jeweler may say- you shouldn't mix silver wire with bronze jewelry hardware! But the client may love her new earrings just the way they are! soooooo, is it wrong? Nope :) I'm not better, but I'm not worse. I love the many areas of "art" I work with and I am by far my own worse critic. There are many times I have to step away and shelf a project and get to it later...ALL artists have works in progress, some haven't been touched for years! One day though, we will pick it up again and completely revamp it and finish it, glowing with self reassurance that we completed a kick ass piece of work~ There will always be just as many critics as there are fans....because like I said....all art depends on the person who gazes their eyes upon it- to each their own. The artist creates based on emotion and everyone else has their own emotions, opinions, critiques, etc. of that same piece. So embrace it and if you feel the need to critique it...it really doesn't matter, there will ALWAYS be someone else who thinks differently. :) But, if you would like to offer advice or guidance to help another artist out, on how to achieve the desired effect or outcome- help another artist out! We are always learning and being inspired by other creative people~ Goodnight- It's almost the weeeeeeekend!! Lottie
